I just thought of something that made me realize that I'm passing being a teenager. I have no clue how to use tumblr or twitter and I'm 23 only. Not that I'm illiterate but i think having to learn a whole new site is so time consuming. Who has that much time?

I'm having another one of my moments where i wish i had my laptop so i could write.

The sky is so beautiful 10 minutes before the sunsets in LA. That's the only time in my whole day where I feel like everything will be alright. And it starts getting dark and that's when I'm back to where I began. :(

I haven't changed on bit over the years. Same ol'same ol'

So I'm a skin care junkie and i think skin care is #1. I've been using naruko products lately and i have to say... Its awesome. Maybe I'll do a blog post on it. Its also super cheap for what it offers. The packaging is awesome and it actually makes my skin so much better.

How i see it is that since I'm no beautyqueen i have to take care of the assets i do have such as my skin, hands, and butt. That way when im old i won't live life regretting not taking care of myself.

Musha Restaurant - Torrance + Quality Seafood - Redondo Beach

For my birthday this year I told J to take me to go eat and tbh I was a bit disappointed this year. I thought he was going to take me to a restaurant I've been really wanting to go to, but we ended up going to two different places.

First, went to Quality Seafood for lunch. I love seafood and I love how Quality Seafood steams instead of boiling. All the natural crab juices stay inside the crab.

Clam Chowder - J ate the whole thing, I didn't really care for it. It was too thick for me.

EXTRA lemons and butter! :)

I regret getting this shrimp. After I got it, I saw that they had diablo(?) spicy shrimp.

Was not good... how do I know you ask? Well, I suck the head and if it's a bit bitter... no like.

Dungeness crab(male) - forgot to ask the guy for a female crab...

I also got blue crabs, they were decent as well but I forgot to snap pictures. Quality seafood is great because you get so many options and it's actually nice eating out doors in the sun. I like!

After some sight seeing and some shopping we ended at Musha in Torrance. It's in the same plaza as Torihei and Seikoen. I don't understand how 3 GREAT restaurants could be in the same plaza. I wish I lived over there... they have so many great restaurants.

Spicy tuna with rice crackers - I was disappointed that they only gave us 2 crackers :( The table next to us got 3! haha

I also forgot to take a picture of the seared mackerel. He torched it at the table and it was delicious.

Sirloin grilled on charcoal - you grill it at the table, it was fun although the beef wasn't great quality for the $14-$15 we paid. Still, a great dish with protein!

I LOVE my camera.

by this time J and I were full beyond this universe. We still had their popular risotto. When he brought it, I thought we were going to be able to dig in from the block of Parmesan. I was wrong, he scrapped and scrapped and mixed.

The risotto was probably the best dish of the night, I love creamy milky cheesy anything. :)

I think by that time I was so full I couldn't eat another bite. This sandwich had scallops in it I believe. I didn't even touch it. :(

I have been bending backwards trying to save something that might not be there anymore. Unlike before, I keep everything to myself now and I don't think it's really helping. Does anyone know the feeling of not being able to understand certain situations or feeling like you're just paranoid, but not all at the same time. I feel that way towards him, and I am so lost.

I believe people grow up and you drift apart, I am no longer as sappy as I used to be. As I grow older, I become more and more private and it scares me because I don't have a place to vent my true feelings. I'm not making any sense... do I ever?

People say, "you get comfortable," but that's not what I want. I don't want to just get comfortable and I feel like him and I aren't what we used to be, but that doesn't bother him(?) Why? Because we've been together for 4+ years?

I tell him that it hurts me deep down inside and sometimes I don't feel like we are even a couple anymore, but nothing changes and I end up being the biggest nag. so I stop because that's all I can do is stop. I try to tell myself that this is just me(which could be), but all these thoughts still come back in my head. For example, if he's gone for too long I start getting worried like "wtf. is he on his phone talking to another girl? Is he texting? wtf is he doing?" I know, and I'll get so overwhelmed in these feelings that I stick to it. I can't figure myself out anymore, because I'll go the extent and check his phone and find nothing... only to realize I'm being really paranoid.

I know the correct answer to my feelings is to take a break and let myself breath. He's put me through situations I never understood how I got out of, and I think it's all slowly starting to unfold.

I feel so confused, and hurt. I'm tired of being hurt, I really am.

Hello Kitty & My Melody LOVE*

New sets, mostly acrylic! I haven't done nails for quiet a long time and now that I'm getting appointments after appointments I am dead beat tired!! I know it doesn't seem like a lot of work but my eyes feel so dry and my back & shoulders are in so much pain. I feel so old now, and my friend joked that it was because I haven't done real labor for awhile. The results still leave me very happy!

Look!! it's hello kitty & my melody! :D (Sculptrue Nails/Acrylic)

It was my first time makng hello kitty, I never get Hello Kitty requested but finally this great customer gave me the chance. I thought Melody would be easier since I've done her plenty of times, but Melody was giving me a hard time with her eyes that day!!

Too bad I decided for this customer to fill up every finger since she had a special day... but if you look carefully there were seashells!!

This set was done on my coworker's hands.

The problem: She has odd hands/fingers, I've never met anyone where my forms don't stick on. Maybe it has something to do with her glands, and on top of that her finger nails flicked upwards. I'm practicing on her in case I get customers like her in the future. Not happy with the results, I need to practice on her more.

Komasa Restaurant(recommend!!)

This place is my favorite sushi (nigiri) restaurant. Not only are the prices low, but the quality is superb!! I don't think I've ever been disappointed coming here, and I love places like these. I'm not a fancy shmancy girl, I like to eat fast and leave fast.

I have this secret pet peeve where I don't understand why people sit around at a restaurant(esp small restaurants like this one) and talk when they see how many people are waiting to get seated. I mean, you can go get coffee afterwards OR talk in your car. When I see many people waiting EVEN at souplantation I try to eat quickly because it's the right thing to do. I dunno, I care about the random-est things.

Ankimo - Monkfish liver ($5)

Sometimes the ankimo is really really good, and it's only $5. I have yet to go anywhere where they sell ankimo for $5. :)

I just started doing soft gel since they are in high demand. Although after trying soft gel I have still realized that it does hurt the nail bed like acrylic, but just not as much. I recommend gel for those who DON'T want extensions and want something simpler and natural. I am actually beginning to really appreciate soft gel! :)

Apparently the bunny video wasn't what it seemed to be. It's actually one example of an "amateur" video on animal crushing. I can not believe it. I just can't. People pay money to watch girls stomp on furry creatures. It broke my heart, I even read about them killing dogs and cats.

So not long after the video burst, the girl apparently came forth to do an interview and wrote an apology letter. this is what she had to say...

The reason she killed those animals was because she was threatened. She thought she finally found a job, but instead her job consisted of crushing animals.

Open Door (Monterey park) - take two

What can I say about Open door? I finally can use the saying, "fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me." I believe in second chances, and I hate criticizing eateries... but wtf? Maybe I ONCE again ordered the wrong dishes? I personally do not recommend Open door if you want good food, I do recommend Open door if you want some specialty Japanese beers and a little bite to eat.

I really try not to be an ass when it comes to food, but everything was way too salty. Maybe I don't appreciate fusion. Not my type of restaurant I suppose.

J really enjoyed this beer. His favorite "dish" of the night.

Truffle tater tots - all i had were question marks (????) lol.

Hamachi - Probably the highlight of the night. The ONLY highlight of the night.

Fish was fresh compared to last time I came.

Wings - salty, didn't even finish or bother to take home.

Rib eye (kind of like Gyu Kaku's Sukiyaki Bibimpap) - SALTY, meat was dry, SALTY, did I mention it was rather salty.

Onigiri - Not the best although I'm not going to say I know what a really good tasting one is, but this is def. not good.

J doesn't complain much, and he didn't like the food.

We got the bill, and it was a bit outrageous. I would have rather saved my money and went to Chipotle. I'm sorry, I feel bad but never again will I shame myself. haha. I feel so bad for posting this... but I just have to.

Christmas - Marc by Marc Jacobs, Dior, Uggs

This is late but it was CHRISTMAS TIME!! For some reason, i wasn't really in the spirit this past Christmas. J always gets so excited when Christmas is coming around, maybe because I'm Chinese and I've only ever had 1x Christmas tree my whole life. It's nice having J because he really REALLY loves Christmas. & every year he gets into the spirit of buying me presents ALTHOUGH i always tell him that I'd rather him save money, but it never works.

HYDA LIFE (CREME SORBET)
I tried this on at Sephora and liked the jelly texture and J remembered and bought it. I've used it for over a month now and it hasn't helped with my dry skin. Don't really care for it, i felt like it was a waste of money. I will be sticking to Shiseido white lucent.

I actually had a 3 day Christmas. J bought me a chestnut pair of uggs in November, but due to a certain drunken night with friends, my boots got really messed up because i didn't spray any sort of protector on it. I've wanted uggs as long as I could remember and I never bought them because I felt like they were too expensive and he bought them for me so when they got dirty I cried. We even tried to clean them with UGG cleaner but I made the worse. For those who know me know that I don't cherish my things unless I REALLY REALLY like it. Plus, i got my uggs a bit too big so I recommend getting a size smaller.

So on the 23rd he picked me up from work and I was still bummed about my boots, i know... i'm such a downer and he surprised me with another pair. I cried in happiness because i have the best boyfriend in this world.

As for those who think UGG boots are ugly, I don't care. If you have a pair you would know how comfortable they are. wtf? I wear them ALL the time now, and i have bad blood circulation on my feet and they turn purple but with uggs it has helped me stay warm. Also, i used to wear a lot of flats and I have wide feet so uggs helped revive my toes. They look so much better now!!

J took me bag hunting one day and I didn't see ANY bag I liked, i think it was just all too expensive for me. When I graduate and make more money one day I would love to get a Mulberry Alexa bag/Chanel but I'm just not the luxury kind of gal. I'm so weird!!! So when I opened the box, I was sincerely happy but I felt like it was a waste of money.

I asked J how much the bag cost and I got kind of upset and told him I wanted to return it. We actually got into an argument that night because he felt like I should accept the present since it was a gift, but my thoughts were that we WEREN'T 18 anymore, we have to save while we can and since he's the one that makes 60k and i make like then 16k... he has to take care of us both. I felt bad because he spent all his money on my presents that he had to make last minute adjustments on presents for his family.

So in the end after a week of discussing, J said he would only return the bag if I let him buy me a camera. I agreed because I felt like I could make more use of a camera, and I can just go to Urban Outfitters for a nice bag that cost a fraction of the MBMJ bag.

We got the Olympus E-PL1, US versions only come in black and silver, but I really wanted to white one so we bought it off of Ebay. I love this camera so much so far. It's much more compact then my Nikon D60, and takes much better photos then my Canon point and shoot.

Brodard Restaurant - Garden Grove

A few of us decided to visit the two Daniel's in Costa Mesa, and L was talking about a really yummy Vietnamese restaurant around there so after much debate we decided to go. L kept raving about their spring rolls(nem nuong), to be honest i was thinking, "yeah right, how good can spring rolls be."

The restaurant looks pretty big and it was packed on a weekday. The wait wasn't too long though which we appreciated, and as we were getting seated EVERY table had a plate of nem nuong. It took our table of 5 thirty minutes to decide what we wanted. We had a blast looking at yelp and questioning our server on yelp pictures. Although i'm a devoted hater of yelp, i have to say yelp saved the day.

Nem Nuong Cuon - This was really good, i was so surprised too! There's something about the spring roll, maybe it's the crispy wonton skin? or the delicious sauce that comes with. Or the pork loaf, whatever it is... the combination is superb.

It's time to start blogging again about food and nails. I haven't started doing nails yet, but the Long Beach ISSE convention is at the end of this month and I hope to start doing bio sculpture/cal gel nails by February.

I've been wanting to try sugarfish since over a year ago and when i heard that they opened a new location closer to home I decided to go. The first time I went, I left my camera at home but I ended up taking J here since I liked it so much.

If you go with a friend or partner I would recommend getting one Nozawa and one Trust me. That's what J and I did and it was more then enough food. I really enjoy eating here, the sushi just LITERALLY melts in your mouth. I was so skeptical before coming here but the warm rice and room temperature fish is to die for.

edamame - I think this was the best edamame I've ever had (I don't even like it that much!)

Tuna(big eye) with ponzu sauce - The ponzu is so good!!

Albacore - it was one of my favorites after the blue crab hand roll

Salmon - melts**

Snapper - This was J's favorite

Halibut - I loved the intense flavor of the Yuzu

Yellowtail - usually one of my goto cuts wherever i go

Scallop - This was def. not my favorite. I didn't really like it, and i'm not going to say it's not fresh because it was really saucy. The scallop just tasted kind of funny.

Blue crab handroll - I LOVED this roll, I heard Sasabune makes a great one, i'll have to go try soon! The reason why their rolls are so good is because of the nori Nozawa uses as well as the combination of warm rice and room temperature fish.

I love SugarFISH, but since i'm still a student I can't have this all the time. Lately, instead of eating fancy dinners I realized that saving for my future is much more important. I think I'm going to come here on Wed for lunch since lunch is a tad bit cheaper!! :P

What to do?

First off, i'm very ignorant. I never read the news and i think i don't read the news for a good reason. I feel so bad for people, i feel so gracious for being lucky that i was born and raised in a great environment. I have clothes and shelter, friends and family. I am almost crying right now because i just can't cope that people in this world aren't as lucky as me.

I've been reading a lot from www.chinasmack.com

I guess i want to admit something first, i never really cared for China, I was very biased towards them but for some reason this year it came to me that we are all equal. Just because a lot of bad news revolves around China doesn't mean everyone that lives in China is the same. Through forums i learned how many people do care in this world, but if only all these people that cared could do something about it.

Recently, I've been reading about places in china where they enslave handicapped people for THREE years without proper food and care. They make them work everyday, and they get beaten if they don't work fast enough or even electrocuted. I look at these pictures and I just want to cry, because in their faces you can see all the pain they have been through but for some reason i can see hope. I seek revenge for those who treat these people like this. I started googling about this and i found out that in 2007, about 450 people worked in brick kilns. OMG, i'm at work and i can't even work at all.

$1350 for 5 workers. $1350/5 = $270 usd.

So each person is only worth $270?!?

I will update this later with pictures that broke my heart.

I feel too lucky, i feel like i want to help these people but where to start?

In the end I still feel so selfish...

I am outraged by this... and these are the times that I wish i didn't read news articles because I HATE reading articles about animal cruelty. CRUELTY in general, i don't give a hoot if you were abused when you were younger... it's not right and there is no justification to inflict pain on anything or anyone.

The reason why I'm blogging about this is because i want this girl to pay for what she did to that bunny. If you are too lazy to click on the link, I am going to provide the content. AND i didn't even watch the video because I think I'd cry and fly to China or wherever this girl lives and stab her in the heart. I'm not kidding, so for those like me... don't watch it. Introducing our bunny killer and her device to kill this bunny is that piece of glass on the floor. She's a pretty girl no? She basically puts the glass plate on the bunny and sits on the glass plate until the bunny dies.

Look at this girl with her satisfied looking face, she has absolutely no remorse on her face... utterly disgusting.

I just can't bare to watch the video, and it makes me so sick that there's people in this world who would do this. I know, there's probably so much more I don't know but how is this right? Apparently there were two other girls sitting and laughing... how could they? It's just like that one incident where a high school girl got raped and there were 20people that passed by or watched.

Lately, i've gotten so many texts and calls about nail appointments. I haven't done anyone's nails for about half a year now so i wanted to apologize to anyone that left me a fb message/text/email/phone call. I'm the worst person responding because i am so lazy. Explaining how i might start doing nails soon is the worst. There comes the questions, and i have to find the answers... truth is, i'm indecisive. I don't know when i'm actually going to start, everything seems to take so much time these days.

1) I will start doing nails soon, i promise... it's getting cold, a lot of you have been asking me about gel nails. I'm thinking about getting calgel, but I am low on cash and gel is expensive. My whole plan was to start buying gel, but i haven't had time! I haven't even had time to look at what colors to buy.

2) I don't work at Oops J anymore, I have to change my fb page. I still refer people there though, but my contract has ended so I will start working from home again.

3) Please forgive my carelessness, i know a lot of girls have been supporting me and that really brings *tears* to my eyes. It's not a business to me, it's more about the experience and all the different girls I've met. Don't give up on me!! I will be back, and work harder then before.

Plus, I have to re-amp my nail skills before i start again right? I really do...
Sorry for not answering text messages, i'm going to go do that right now. also, i have to renew my manicurist license!!

:) I never have any time for anything... I was thinking of only having one day out of the week for nails. I think that might be the best for me, try to squish people in there. it seems like time is never on my side, i rarely sleep in and i'm constantly tired when i do have a day off. It's like, "what? it's already 8pm.wtf?" Nails have been the last thing on my mind, but I realized how much i loved doing it before so I have DECIDED to start again.

*i was also thinking about doing a couple of sets of nails for free* - just because i haven't done them in so long. I will post that up when I've finally decided.

I'm 22 this year, and I still haven't felt like I've achieved much... or anything at all. I put life on hold sometimes when things don't go right.

There's an abundant of personal stuff that I'm not going to explain or go into detail, but it pretty much went like this.

J decided to make a wrong choice and he decided he wanted to break up.

It's not romantic, it wasn't pretty, and I'm not proud.

I felt like I changed as a person after we broke up, I became more confident, I thought I was happy but I feel like J is the only person that can make me happy. We are stronger than ever, but what happened still hurts. I hate myself for hurting others, and that's something I will always have to live with.

Love isn't a fairytale, we can only make the best out of it. Try to embrace ourselves while loving the other person. I learned it the hard way, and I'm so content and happy now. I think I just need to figure out what to do with my life now.

Life still goes on even if you have a broken heart, but a broken heart can always be mended.

I haven't uploaded in awhile and since a few months back, my life has taken another dramatic change. J took me to Taihei a few months back for v-day because I was really sad at the time. J came back, and I decided to give our relationship another chance. I suppose I'll post this in a post after this.

Fish cake - This is such a different kind of fish cake, it's very good though. I know Taiwanese fish balls are QQ in texture, but this is much more dense. All i know is that it's very good!!

Asparagus wrapped in bacon - We initially ordered 2, but the waitress asked us if we were sure and we remembered that it came like this. The asparagus were huge, and it's one of J's favs.

Shrimp - I love shrimpies, i don't remember this shrimp that much though, but I enjoyed sucking on the head and making loud sounds

I'm too lazy to browse for the name. It's a soft boiled egg filled with ikura in broth. I LOVE soft boiled eggs!!!

Hanpan - it's like a sponge, it's my favorite ALL TIME. My mom used to put it in my soups, i think it's very kid friendly. The sponge sucks up all the oden juices, and it's like an explosion in your mouth... fine a mini explosion.

Try Taihei, i hear some likes and dislikes but I love how you can try so many dishes and I also love how they have both oden and yakitori. :)

I just had a bit of a meltdown at work, I'm really bad at handeling stress. The past few months have been somewhat of a roller coaster ride but because of my friends... I made it through. I have to thank all of them for listening to me whine all day. Throughout this time, I learned a lot about myself... I lost a few friends and also gained a few. What's most amazing is how life plays out, there's never going to be a day where everything's "ok," and I'm finally okay with that. I've stopped trying to figure everything out and I'm learning how to concentrate on the things that are most important in life.

I have some more amazing news coming up in the near future. :)

Wakasaya - Little Tokyo

Awhile ago I went to China town to pierce my ears and sight see because I haven't been to China town for a few years now but nothing in Chinatown appealed to my tummy so we ventured out to Little Tokyo, like always.

We were debating on Curry House, Orochon, or Shabu Shabu when we passed by Wakasaya. I saw all the pictures of their bowls and I wanted to dart right in. I did in the end always get my way so we ended up eating here. :)

Wakasaya serves seafood donburis which you can either custom make or pick one that is listed on the menu. While I was in the restroom I saw that Wakasaya is actually a restaurant chain in Tokyo so I was super excited to try because I have yet to seen a donburi restaurant!!

I have never seen a menu with so much writing in it. If you flip to the next page they have tons and tons of options.

Like Orochon they have a contest to see if you can finish their SUPER big donburi. I believe if you finish the meal is on them.

Toro salmon don - This was actually really good. I liked it.

I custom made mine with uni, negi toro, and amaebi. The negi toro was really REALLY bad. I took a bite of it and it wasn't very fresh. As for the amaebi, it was frozen and the uni was pretty good. No complaints about the uni! For the price it was "alright," but the negi toro could have been better!

Not expensive at all, but to be quiet honest I would rather pay more for better quality. I am still willing to go again though!!

Hi,
I've yet to update my blog for quiet some time. I want to design my own layout and make this blog a bit better with frequent updates.

A lot of people ask me where I learned nail art and I was self taught. I bought tons of Nail Max/nail up/nail venus magazines a few years ago and I slowly learned how by looking at pictures and doing research. Throughout my life, I've never been this serious about a hobby and when I finally mastered a full set without lifting... I felt so accomplished and happy because I could bring what I love most to other girls and make them happy. Nail art is a form of "art" to me and nails are my canvas.

In my perspective there is ALWAYS room for improvement, I was taught growing up by my family to be humble with what we have and what we know. I take everyones comments into consideration, even customers who have no idea what they are talking about because everyone's comments matter and if I'm so quickly to decide what I want to listen to I will never improve.

Yet, with my ideals... I still step into a world I don't exactly like. That's why I haven't been doing nails lately, I haven't updated my blog. I have in line... like 4 nail pictures I haven't ps. I guess I came into this business with my naive and simple ideas of just wanting to make people happy. I never wanted to compare myself with other nail techs, I never thought that I'm doing this to solely make money. I just feel disappointed in the people I trust, only to realize that they didn't trust me. To have a finger pointed towards me and being accused of things I didn't do hurts a lot because if people knew my passion and my naive personality they would know... I could never pull it off.

and for people to constantly want to watch me fall makes me back off from nails. It makes me feel like, it's a business... everyone is only watching for themselves. I don't blame them but I never wanted to be apart of it. I just enjoy my customers company and enjoy making nails pretty. How could my simple ideals be misinterpreted.

I treat everyone equally, I trust everyone I know because I believe in everyone. I believe that people are good, that somewhere down there... maybe they were betrayed so these people are constantly watching behind their backs but that doesn't make them a "bad" person. They just need to understand that there are people like me that have no intentions AT ALL. The only intention I really have is hopefully in the near future I can have my own salon. Even if it fails, I will be happy that I had the opportunity to have one.

Maybe I'm too naive, maybe I believe in all the wrong things... but, if people want to see me fall... I will work harder because I'm tired of being stepped on. I know who I am, I know I do my job pretty well so I'm done feeling like I "deserve" it because I'm so passive.

I don't hate, it's too strong of a word... no matter how many times someone burns me, I will feel no hate towards them. I don't feel like I'm better but I do feel like I want to prove to them that I'm not out to burn them. I treat people with respect and I only wish I got it back at times.

The one thing I love about hanging out with L is all the yummy foods we eat albeit lately, I've been broke and I slowly came to realize after eating at so many places... food is still food. I don't find the need to spend more then 20per person anymore unless it's for celebration. OR unless it's Japanese, BBQ.

Mi Piace is located in Old Town Pasadena on Colorado, I've always passed by this place and was captivated by the big windows and outdoor seating. One day L asked what I wanted to eat and I said somewhere I haven't been before so she took me here and I'm the pickiest person ever so I'm sure I got on her nerves without knowing what I wanted to eat.

Her Strawberry Mojito and my regular Mojito.

I don't like alcohol very much and I only order mojitos during dinner.

bread is not so good.

Caesar salad - it was actually really good albeit I still love Caesar salad's that come with anchovies.

carpaccio - I didn't really enjoy this dish. The beef was cut too thin and there was too much vinaigrette on it. It didn't even taste like meat really so I was a bit disappointed.

Gnocchi Di Spinaci E Ricotta Salata - This was L's and I remember trying it and thinking it was really good. I'm a carnivore, I need meat in everything and I was surprised at how great it was with spinach.

Spaghetti Con Polpette - My spaghetti with house made meatballs and tomato basil rosemary sauce was just average. I really should have gotten something else. L got all the hit items and I got all the missed items.

After my experience at Mi Piace, I feel like I'd have to read more reviews on what to order there. The service was above average and the food was somewhat average, I will definitely try again though.

Hello Kitty Exhibit - Royal T (Culver City)

Back in November there was a Hello Kitty exhibit at Royal T in Culver City. I dragged two of my friends to go with me and it was somewhat of a disappointment. Growing up, I remember loving Hello Kitty and I was a bit saddened that the collection was so humble. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it and did see some cool paintings.

Sorry for my lack of updates, I've been lacking at work...

I moved to Baldwin Park so I've still been trying to clean my room a bit and work on a new workspace for nails. I still work at Oops J, I just haven't called in for my schedule. Tomorrow, I will do that and start getting my life back together.

I really "played" a bit too much during the end of 2009, something I have never done before but now I shall learn to balance between work and play.

Emotions have been fluctuating and when hard times come I run away from my problems. :(

Lots of new updates soon, I guess a lot of personal stuff.

There comes a time when I could care less about what people think of me, I know who I am and I stand firm of it. Reality is, who knows who reads this and this is a partial work blog for nails but it's my blog so I shall post whatever I want. Starting from this year, it's also a personal blog but I can't ask people not to judge but try to judge less please. ;)

Maybe I'll just make a separate blog for that, decisions decisions...

Taiwan 09 (Part 2 - Restaurants)

These were the restaurants I ate at while I was in Taiwan. I forgot to bring my camera to some places so there were a few places where I forgot to take pictures.

Bellini pasta pasta

The ambiance was really nice so I took many pictures of this place.

I didn't realize the mirrors until after dinner.

Restaurants in Taiwan are much nicer.

We got two orders of this.

Per order it includes; soup(2), salad(2), pasta(1), pizza(1), desert(1)

I got the minestrone, it wasn't anything great.

the Caesar salad was really good, or actually I recall it not being as tangy as caesar dressing but it was close.

I'm not a big fan of this place due to the crust. The crust was way too thin, when I lift the pizza up, there wasn't enough stability for the toppings. I felt like I was eating a pizza chip but apparently they're a popular place in Taiwan.

Skylark California Cusine

So the last time I was in Taiwan I was in Sogo (department store) with my sister in law and we ate here. I remember it being really good so I made my mom bring me again. I forgot to take a picture of the menu but I remember skylark being really inexpensive and in Taiwan they always have set meals. I love set meals because the portions are smaller but you get to try everything.

Now on to my favorite restaurant I went to while I was in Taiwan. It's a Tonkatsu place and it's so yummy!!

The cabbage is really good, sometimes cabbage tends to have a bitter taste but the cabbage here did not, and the dressing really really topped it all off. They even sold their dressing in containers for home. The great part about the meal is that the cabbage, and rice were unlimited. The service was great too, before my rice bowl was empty, the server would come by and ask if I needed another bowl of rice.

The salad and rice was so good.

The sauce is then poured into the grinded sesame seeds as a dipping sauce for the katsu.

My relatives took my mom and I to a Chinese restaurant. It was actually really good, but there were so many courses that towards the ending I really really wanted to throw up. I didn't know we were having such a big brunch/dinner.

I didn't like the salad, I had no idea what that root looking thing was.

Taiwan 09 (part 1 - Street Food)

I categorized my Taiwan pictures into two groups. Street Food and Restaurants!! I kept forgetting to bring my camera when I went out and it was so hot in Taiwan that I just got lazy with taking pictures. It just wasn't very convenient hauling a heavy camera all day and not knowing if someones going to walk into it.

Next is the second most popular night market in Taichung and I didn't bring my camera when we went to Fong Jia because I was sweating and there were SO many people.

I love these places and I always spend way too much money here getting a stuffed animal that I will forget about. Hopefully, when I have a boyfriend I can bring him here and make him get one for me. That's so adorable.

Very popular tea place, there was a long line for it. I didn't think it was all that great.

Very famous popcorn chicken place. I grew up with this and this awesome-ness started in Taichung. I remember when I was little, the original store was just around the corner from our bakery and either my mom/dad/worker would bring me here to get chicken. Cute memories, and I find it funny that the things I remember most from my childhood is food.

I will never get over how beautiful clouds are. I didn't take the first one, it was taken with an Iphone... why can't I take pictures with my iphone like this?

I feel like my blog and become so personal and I originally made this because I wanted to share my happiness with others. I just need an outlet, because at times opinions aren't necessary. I just need to pour it all out, I guess I can express how I feel better through writing.

I have so many secrets, so many things I hold deep in myself because I know people can't handle the truth. J came back the other day, just like wind he blew himself back into my life. It hasn't exactly settled in yet and the day he expressed his feelings to me and we laid there on his bed I whispered, "I feel like I'm dreaming." I wasn't exactly coherent at the time but I was utterly shocked because I closed that door already. I moved on, or at least I tried very hard to move on and I was just about there when this happened.

Anger was how I reacted at first and I just didn't want to deal with him because my heart had already drifted away. I found happiness in other things and my personality grew a bit thicker. After he came back, I just got this feeling that I wanted to stop talking to everyone, I wanted to just be alone and not have to deal with any of it because I need to be selfish. Although I want to be selfish, at the end of the day I can't walk away from the people I care about.

Music hasn't been helping the headaches, why can't things just be simple?

The kind of person I am? I feel like a horrible person, I feel like my actions were lies. I feel like people are counting on me to be strong and to figure out what I want but what if I don't want anything? Does that make me a horrible person for not wanting anything?

What if I don't want anyone? What if I just want to be alone? Love is strong, and I'm also the kind of person that can't stand to hurt another for my benefit. Have I become bitter? Do I not believe anymore? People change and I try to live life without regrets, if you make a mistake, shouldn't we keep walking forward and learn from it?

Funeral (Taoism) - Taiwan

I went back in September for my Grandmother's funeral and I learned a lot. I finally learned that there's a difference between Buddhism and taoism. Buddhism originated from India while Taoism originated from China but apparently it's a mixture of both. Since my Grandmother was very religious so was the funeral. I learned so much about my own culture and how elderly people interact.

We had to fold paper which were later on burned for my grandmother. I think these symbolized money.

So they set these tents up in front of the deceased house and on the street. The roads are even closed off for these days.

LOTS AND LOTS of flowers were delivered.

I didn't get to Taiwan until the day of the ceremony.

and, I had no idea what was going on

We had to wear white clothes and Taiwan was so hot and humid at that time.

Family had to wear robe like clothing.

All of this stuff just amazes me because I have no idea what any of it means.

There was even a live band.

I feel like this is really paying our respects for my Grandmother.

Very emotional time

Leaving for the cemetery. For Taoist funerals, we do not see her one last time. She is kept inside the whole time.

After the burial there was more practicing.

Being an American born Taiwanese... I was seriously blown away. For the first time, I felt like a foreigner and I just didn't understand anything. I don't understand funerals and why it's so important, but I felt like my Grandmother's funeral was very deep. The fact that it's so religious just blows me away. I actually feel like we did everything we were and could for my grandmother and we said our goodbyes very properly. It's hard to explain but honestly, I have been to too many funerals lately.

life and death is such a sensitive subject.

There are certain things in life that changes us. Certain people that hold a certain space in our hearts regardless of what this person was or has become. We all hold someone very dear in our hearts. These past few months have been some of the worst months of my life, 4 people I know passed away. I felt lost and scared when I heard the news this time, I'm not sure what any of this means and I'm still trying to figure it out. There are certain things I'm too scared to admit, certain circumstances I don't want to face so I run. I run as far away as I can because that's the only way I know how to cope. Coping for me means forgetting what happened, denying the truth. Ignorance is bliss and I live everyday as ignorant as possible.

Staring at the ocean I felt infinite with the wind blowing in my face. Can life be this beautiful? Are things as bad as it seems? Will the grass be greener on the other side? Hope and optimism is something I've always lacked and when I stood there, I felt like everything would be better. Life is infinite and I believe everyone has a choice, we can choose the kind of mindset we want. Thank you for bringing me here I.

My family went to Gui Rim for dinner. It's another all you can eat Korean BBQ. I would go more frequently but I have no one to go with, it seems like a lot of people these days are pretty health conscious. After I eat all you can eat Korean BBQ... I always end up feeling pretty crappy.

I think they have 16 different types of meat which is pretty awesome.

Afterwards we all went to The Korean market down the street called California Market.

I love sweet potatoes.

I also love Korean drinks. The grape one is my favorite.

Outside the market, there's a cart that sells Korean style sweet pancakes. It's this mochi bread like pancake and the best part is that they are only $1!!

they have this coffee machine outside and when I had it the first time, the french vanilla was pretty awesome but the second time... not so much.

There's this new Japanese hair dye called Prettia and the cool thing about this hair dye is the fact that it's easy to put on. That way, you'll never have to worry about missed spots while dyeing your own hair or getting it dripped all over your clothes. This will be my quick review about Prettia.

Note: when you combine bottle #2 int bottle #1 do not shake it. I made a horrible mistake of shaking it but you should just turn it up and down slowly so the mixture is combined.

after picture... not a big difference but it was redder than before.

Before I weigh the pros and cons... I must say that I would rather dye my hair myself because I can save lots of money and that sometimes when I get it dyed professionally it hurts so badly that I've cried before, and my hair always ends up dried for 2 weeks so I'd advise people to use Japanese hair dye if they want to save money.

Pros

- foamy so it doesn't drip and easy to use

- about $12-13 a pack if you buy it at Takashimaya

- It's cheaper for me to use Prettia because one bottle goes a long way, but with Palty I definitely have to use to boxes.

- the color was really pretty

Cons

- color fades rather quickly

- my scalp burned really badly the first time I used it

- my scalp ended up peeling horribly so it looked like I had major dandruff

- smells horrible

- dries out hair

But, this is just my experience and review of Prettia. The second time I used it, I didn't burn but I still peeled and many other users did not have the same problem. I still prefer to use Palty over Prettia.

You can buy Palty at Mitsuwa and I think it might be a bit cheaper at Mitsuwa, but you can also buy either Palty or Prettia at Takashimaya.

My favorite and also many others favorite ramen shop... Daikokuya.

First, I need to say I enjoy their shredded pork bowl so much more!!

Miso soup and salad comes with the bowls.

The half bowls do not come with the soup and salad but it is definitely enough for me.

Half ramen... I think I've blogged about Daikokuya before. On this particular day, the soup was so salty. I think it was an off day, it was disappointing.

J's favorite is of course, the pork cutlet bowl.

For our 2 year anniversary J took me to Mastroes. All I have to say is that I like Wolfgang's Steakhouse better. I'm not going to write a detailed review because it's not something I want to think about. Plus, pictures are better anyways.

The bread is actually decent here. #1 it was warm. :)

If I were to eat a $200+ meal I'd rather give the $150 to charity and just eat a $50 meal. If one day, I have money to donate $200 and eat a $200 meal I will but for now I probably wouldn't want anyone to spend that much money on a dinner with me.

I need an outlet for what I'm feeling right now.

I'm not sure how I even survived through these few weeks, I think back to it and I realized I've been half living. I kept telling myself I was okay when I really wasn't, and when I finally came up with the courage to face the truth .. I realized that I was okay. I might not be the same happy girl but I'm at least okay. Even though it hurts a lot to know that people in general aren't always what we expect them to be, but through this experience I grew closer to my friends and I also met new people that held my hand throughout this journey.

For every disappointment there will always be happiness hiding around the corner. My two best friends have been my free therapist for the past few weeks. You both know who you are and I promise to start becoming a better friend. Sometime just saying a simple and sincere, "Thank you" is very hard. I wanted to tell both of you guys that I really appreciate everything. Sometimes all I need is that car ride with music playing and knowing the friend that's sitting next to me would never leave intentionally. I think that's just enough for me to live happily because it's like people are actually counting on me. I'm not alone and I never will be alone.

I think when it comes to relationships I need to be more logical and accept the cold hard facts. When I think about love or relationships my whole body shivers and it scares me. It scares me that I thought I needed someone to mend my heart, that I needed someone else's arms to give me warmth. Learning from my mistakes, I really didn't. I just needed to believe in myself and have faith in myself. I met two people that gave me new insights to life, and maybe I just needed change, I needed something different.

"If she's amazing, she won't be easy. If she's easy, she won't be amazing. If she's worth it, you won't give up. If you give up, you're not worthy."

I've learned so much, and I really need an outlet for everything I'm feeling.

I just want to focus on myself and what I want, I don't want to live for anyone else. I don't want to be a certain way because everyone expects me to be, I just want to figure out myself and I really need to stop molding myself for others.

Before I start, I just wanted to ask everyone not to talk to me about J anymore. This will be the last personal post about J. I think breakups are hard and I was actually try to sort out my pictures when I saw this. Ouch, the heart really hurts when I saw this. I was sleeping when he took this and I imagine how he was feeling when he took this picture. How things change and how growing up requires so much space and time. Even I thought we would be together for a very long time and I'm sure he thought that as well.

I always felt like I always fit comfortably in his arms and I was always comfortable. I would sleep in his arms and wake up in them and he would never complain about it. Little things like kissing me in the middle of the night is really touching, he kisses me on the forehead everyday. The day when he told me he needed to be alone, I knew deep down inside we were over. Because I really love him, I let him go. I think after all the love he has showed me in two years, that's the least I can do for him. I haven't cried in the past week and today I have officially broke my record.

He has given me so much more then I could ever ask for. It's not just love or relationships, it's his support and his never ending optomistic attitude. I always said he was my bear because he was always warm even in winter. I just had to sit next to him and he would warm me up. I just had to call his name at night and he'd wake up and hug me. He subconsiously hugs me in the middle of the night or squeezes my hand. I think it hurts me so much because I obviously took him for granted and even if I knew things would be over I wish I did more for him. He's truly a special person and amazing person.

He's been apart of my home and he will always be my home.

I also decided that I will still post all my adventures that included him because I want to keep and share our happy memories. :)

These were my nails for awhile. It's just clear with rhinestones, I like it very much because it looks simple.

I blinged the lens cap of my lens cap. I think the D60 looks too manly and I wanted to make it into a girls camera :) Best way is to add rhinestones and pearls.

PS I know a lot of you have been worried about me and my whereabouts. I'm sorry for the people I have responded through email but I'm still working my way slowly through the overload of emails (spam from facebook). I am back in LA and I'm doing my best to live.love.learn. I wish the best to everyone and for the Chinese people.. there's this song by A-lin called 做我自己. Things haven't been going so well with J & I.

This blog has kind of been about us and our adventures.

The reason I'm successful with nails and I got hired by Oops J has a lot to do with J's support. I know we both need time to grow but I miss him so much that it's making me really antsy. I can't concentrate on anything for too long. Heartbreaks are hard and I'm really sorry to everyone that has been trying to make an appointment. He has been a huge impact in my life and I need that time to let it go and move on.

I will be at Oops J on Fridays and Saturdays. If anyone wants to make an appointment with me it has to be at the salon. It's a bit more expensive but it's also much more comfortable. For now, please call the store directly to make an appointment with me. I think it's much easier there because I have my co-workers to support me and make me laugh. :) See you at Oops J!

Currently in Taiwan

The weather is humid and I'm in a very uncomfortable position because I'm stealing someone else's wireless internet :) I came back for my Grandmother's funeral, it was very different. It was a very traditional taoist funeral. I finally realized that I'm not Buddhist but Taoist. There's a difference between them and I think a lot of people mix them up. I learned a lot and grew up a little bit this time. I'm not exactly really happy and I'm not sure why. Sometimes life crumbles down on my shoulder and for the first time in awhile I faced the things I've always been most scared of.

The weight on my shoulders really heavy and I just want to give up. I just don't know what to do anymore and this is the first time that I don't want to stay in Taiwan. I love it here but this time.. I hate it here. I hate the weather, I hate how there's so many people, I hate how I can't go anywhere by myself. I need alone time, I need to be home. It's like a domino effect, once one domino falls.. all else falls. I think I'm talking in circles.. somethings are better left private. It's these times when I smile the most often. live.love.learn.

life is currently in b&w. I hope my life turns colorful soon.

Blue & silver nails with Black Lace

I didn't notice how much I liked this set until after I was cropped the picture. I lovee it... my favorite set so far. I love the blueish silver, so pretty. The only complaint I have is how I made it really thick. I think for longest time I've been making nails really thick because I often get complaints of it chipping or breaking, but imo you shouldn't be lifting or doing hard labor when you have beautiful nails. At least that's what one of my customers said so I'm trying to make my acrylics thin because thin does look more natural. I, now ask people, "thin or thick?" I prefer mine in between.

My birthday

I started off my 21st birthday in June with a box of fresh Santa Barbara uni. My brother is a seafood wholesaler so it was really fresh. :) Uni is the best!!!!!

Then I got my birthday cake which were next to four very big candles because my sister thought we didn't have birthday candles so they lit candles we use when there's an electricity outtage. It was a watermelon cake from Baskin Robins :)

The next day J took me to San Diego.

We stayed at the Westin for only $100 per night. The tip is to google, "priceline bidding." and also go on forums like www.betterbidding.com to see what is available for the price. There are some sweet deals although you can't choose which hotel but you get to choose from 2 star hotels to 4 star ones. We got a 4 star hotel that usually goes for $230 per night. Westin even allows dogs but J told me that Momo would just ruin our fun :(

The Westin we stayed at was right next to the Horton plaza and also one street down from the restaurant we ate at which was called, "Blue Point."

On my birthday I made J eat two oysters!! :) I remember there were hama hama, pacific(?) and I can't remember the last one. My least favorite were the hamahamas. They are quiet fishy and it's much harder to get used to the taste.

Lobster Bisque - I'm still having a hard time adjusting to cooked wine. J really liked it though.

J's dish - I couldn't remember it very much.. nothing spectacular.

New York steak - Better then Mastros... SERIOUSLY!!!

All I have to say is Blue Point was surprisingly more expensive then I thought. My steak made up for it though, our server was snobby. I think maybe because we were the youngest couple there that night. She was just so "whatever" with us.

The next day J and I woke up super late and rushed to the museums. We, of course ate lunch first!! & let me say it was the best lunch I've had for awhile. Really good, but def. not cheap. I never knew sandwiches could taste so good.

Corn Soup - soo good :) I wish I lived in San Diego..

BBQ pulled pork sandwich - this was seriously the bombdizzle. I kept stealing bites from J.

I guess these are more "cool" styled. I don't know how to explain it in english but that's the Asian way. :) I don't normally do nails like these, it was really hard for me because I usually like cute things more.

First off, work is so so so boring :( I was supposed to go to training but instead... had a schedule change and had to work.

I go through food phases. I remember I've gone through a Chipotle, King Taco, yakitori, boiling crab. For that week I keep craving the same thing but J says one thing I never get over is BBQ.

One night I was craving some yakitori and around SG there isn't any yakitori places except for Shin Sen Gumi and I must admit the yakitori there is small portion wise. So we took an adventure down to Torrance. To me, it felt like forever...

We finally arrived at our destination .. and there was a wait. The wait wasn't too long, I guess the dinner rush just about ended and people were leaving so the wait time was approx. 10 min.

We sat down and I was so excited...

Like many, i always like checking out the menu before I go to a restaurant. They have a pretty extensive menu imo.

Grounded Chicken rice bowl - J's favorite and we always get it if the restaurant has it.

Hanpen oden ($1.95) - I love hanpen, the texture is kind of like a sponge because it absorbs so much of the broth. The oden broth is light and it's very different then the odens I've become used to in Taiwan.

( I can't remember which one this was.. sorry!) - This one was so good, I still remember being surprised by the texture of this particular oden. It's nothing like the ones you buy at Mitsuwa, the texture is harder and doesn't give you that (Q-ness) regular fish cake does.

Now for the yakitori

Special beef Skewer ($3.95) x 2 - This was the first yakitori we tried and I must say it was one of the best that night. It wasn't until later that I realized these were $4 a skewer!! I was quiet happy that this was the first one because prepared me for the upcoming ones.

Chicken Thigh ($1.80)x2

"Torihei" Meatballs ($1.80) - I didn't like these meatballs very much but I'm sure other people would.

Beef tongue ($2.30) - yum yum yum - better then shin sen gumi :)

Asparagus with pork ($3.95) x 1 - At first, we got two orders of this but the waitress came back and asked us if we wanted to switch it to one instead because it was a pretty big portion. I thank her for that because I'm not a fan of over mayo anything so J enjoyed this one by himself. The asparagus was really juicy though.

Fatty Pork ($2.30) x 2 - This was the best yakitori I had that night. I think the pork and beef just made my day!! I love fatty everything so his was seriously a big treat for me. <3 class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_24">lol

I enjoyed Torihei and I'm hoping to visit this place again next week. These pictures were from about 2-3 months ago. Hopefully, when I return this place will be just as good.

I just read online regarding stuck up manicurists and I have to say I am 1000% not.

I think I'm just tired and I know you might be thinking, "well, why don't you go and call people back if you have time to write in your blog."

I know I know.. I procrastinate way too much but for the people that know me... life is wonderful when I can be lazy. : )

Anyways, I just wanted to say that all the voicemails will be answered. I am just soo tired, I haven't been this hard working for quiet some time and my body is just going downhill. Everything is a mumble jumble. Two jobs plus @ home nail isn't working out lately. Wow, school is starting soon. : (

Hi Everyone, I have been uber busy lately and uber tired.

I haven't had one nail appt. in about 2 weeks... I have work at tm and training all week. Today has been my first day of real stay at home rest.

Sorry to everyone about appointments. If anyone would like to do nails a opps J & I, we are offering 15% right now. More updates on that later, I still have to ask and see if I am able to post anything about my work.
